PERSONAL CARE

Your loved ones may not recognize the need to maintain good oral health. Amazing Caregivers assist with proper mouth, gum, and denture care essential in the prevention of tooth decay, gum disease, and other infections.

Amazing Caregivers understand the sensitivity of this situation and are experienced with providing such care.

Your loved ones may lose the ability to recognize locate the toilet or even when to go to the toilet and may result to an upsetting and distasteful situation. Amazing Care uses some steps to reduce the risks of accidents and useful ways to make toileting a lot easier for your loved ones.

Bathing can be a frightening, confusing and uncomfortable experience for your loved ones. Amazing Caregivers can help make bath time better, relaxing and stress-free activity for your loved ones.

Your loved ones may always forget how to dress and may not recognize the need to change clothes. Amazing Caregivers help make dressing an enjoyable shared activity while maintaining your loved one’s independence as much as possible and retaining self esteem.

PHYSICAL CARE

It is very essential to provide more love and support for your loved ones suffering from memory loss. From a simple conversation, watching TV and eating a home-cooked meal together, our caregivers will definitely help in making your loved one’s life more beautiful.

Amazing Care understands the challenge to communicate with a person with Dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. Our caregivers are equipped with the basic communication techniques such as asking questions in a positive way, and avoiding confrontations by staying calm.

Exercise not only promotes good health but it can also provide worthwhile activity for your loved ones and the caregiver. Our Nurse Supervisor incorporates exercise into your loved ones routine if still capable.

Finding activities that your loved ones can do can be very difficult. At Amazing Care, we want your loved ones to enjoy the hobbies and activities they’ve always loved. Our caregivers will help your loved ones maintain their functional skills and eventually enhance their feelings of independence.

Amazing Care requires our caregivers to document the activities of your loved ones daily. We closely monitor any sudden change of behaviors and evaluates your loved ones care plan regularly to make sure your loved one receives the right amount of care needed. We will keep you informed of your loved one’s caregiver plan and provide you with caregiver’s notes upon request.

Keeping your loved one safe is one of Amazing Care’s most important aspects of care giving. Our commitment to safety makes you and your loved one feel secure in knowing that we are devoted to helping people keep safe while encouraging them to be more active and independent in their vicinity.

Amazing Care makes sure that the house is free from clutter and rugs that may contribute to a fall. Proper lighting is also monitored.

FOOD AND NOURISHMENT

Our caregivers will prepare the meals if your loved ones ability to cook has diminished. They try to see that enough nutritious meal is eaten and enough fluids are taken throughout the day to avoid dehydration.

We take mealtimes as opportunities to interact with your loved ones. More importantly, we give your loved ones choices but limit the number of choices to avoid confusion and the possibility of overeating. We also assure compliance with prescribed diets.

Our caregivers and administrators will work with family and other healthcare professionals to plan meals according to clients’ specific needs. This could include specifications for diabetics, low sodium needs, puree, or others.

People with Dementia and AD often forget if they have eaten or what they have eaten. Amazing Caregivers will make eating easier and safer by complying with the plan of care designed for your loved ones.

Medication mismanagement can be really alarming and may result to a more serious situation. Our caregivers ensure that medications are properly taken on time.

If the medication allows, A person suffering from memory loss may drink in moderation but might often do not recognize the amount of drinks taken making them drunk and unmanageable. We train our caregivers to take actions and reduce the amount of alcohol available. We always make sure that our caregivers supervise your loved ones to avoid the risk of fire and damage to their health.

HOUSE CARE

Amazing Caregivers can assist with watering the plants, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning floors, cleaning bathrooms, cleaning kitchens, taking out the garbage, dishwashing, organizing closets and drawers.

Our caregivers can do both grocery and incidental shopping. You may specify particular stores and goods to be bought.

Our caregivers can run errands such as picking up prescriptions, dry cleaning, or supplies.

Washing clothes and linens can be a big burden for you or your loved ones. Amazing Caregivers can wash, dry, fold, iron and put your loved ones laundry.

Our caregivers can help you and your loved ones in sorting important mails such as utility bills, bank statements etc. Additionally, the caregivers will remind your loved ones when bills are due.

You will be encouraged to work with our caregivers in creating a safe home for your loved one to prevent many dangerous situations such as making sure the stove is turned off after cooking, using child proof latches on kitchen cabinets etc.

EMOTIONAL CARE

Our training program teaches our caregivers not to take the person’s agitation, and or violence as a personal attack on them but a part of the illness. We train our caregivers to cope up with their frustrations and to be calm.

Amazing Care understands that most people suffering from memory loss may be restless, agitated or irritable around dinnertime, commonly known as “sun downing”. Our caregivers are trained to prevent this kind of syndrome or at least limit its manifestations through simple techniques such as encouraging exercise during the day and limiting napping in the afternoon etc.

Our caregivers are fully aware that hallucinations and delusions may be experienced by your loved ones as the disease progresses. We explain to our caregivers the probable causes of hallucinations and delusions and we train them on how to help prevent it, and provide comfort and reassurance.

Your loved ones may experience depression making them unhappy and thinking slowly. Amazing Care understands the seriousness of depression and has trained our caregivers not to expect immediate recovery. This is the time our caregivers need to provide more understanding, comfort and support for your loved ones.

It is common for a person with memory loss to misplace objects. In some cases, the caregivers will be accused of taking their personal items . At Amazing Care, our caregivers are trained to respond to the accusations without confrontation or anger.
